What is MAC address?

A MAC address is a unique hardware identifier (six pairs of characters such as 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX) that some IPTV devices and apps use to link a subscription.

Also called: Device MAC, Hardware address.

Every network-connected device has a MAC address. IPTV uses it on MAG boxes, which are activated by MAC, and in some Smart TV apps that show a MAC address and device key on screen so the provider or app website can attach your playlist to that device.

You can usually find it in the device’s network or system settings, or on a label underneath the box. Sharing it with your provider only lets them link the subscription to that device — it gives no access to your network.

How does MAC address apply to FORTTV4K?

FORTTV4K support can activate a MAG box or a MAC-based TV app from the MAC address you send on WhatsApp or Telegram.

Common questions about MAC address

Where do I find the MAC address of a MAG box?

It is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the box and also shown in the box’s settings, under device or network information.

Can a MAC address change?

A device’s hardware MAC address is set by the manufacturer. Some player apps create their own virtual MAC address instead, which can change if the app is reinstalled.
